Persistent Cookie

Persistent cookies are more permanent bits of information that stay on the user’s hard drive until the user deletes the cookie.

Persistent cookies are used to retrieve certain information that the user has previously stored (e.g., a password), to help determine what areas of a website a user visits, to customize a website to the user’s preference.
